Norwegian salmon farming giant Mowi (formerly called Marine Harvest) has reported all sorts of disease, mortality and welfare problems in Loch Erisort where they operate three salmon farms (Tabhaigh, North Shore East & North Shore West) with the capacity for over 6,500 tonnes of biomass.

Mmmmm – who's for some 'healthy' Mowi salmon fresh from Loch Erisort (shamefully certified – along with all Mowi's salmon farming production – as welfare friendly via RSPCA Assured)?

Scottish Ministers are first in line for "fine Scottish salmon" served up by Mowi.

Still hungry for some 'healthy' and 'delicious' Mowi salmon served with a side of Salmon Gill Poxvirus, Cardiomyopathy Syndrome, Amoebic Gill Disease, lesions and other extras?

Earlier this month (17 January 2020), the Scottish Government's Fish Health Inspectorate (FHI) slipped out damning details of Mowi's problems at Tabhaigh in Loch Erisort.   Here's copies of the FHI inspection documents related to their visit on 13 November 2019 – including 39,575 dead salmon due to Anaemia, compromised gills, gill bleeding and a Salmosan (Azamethiphos) treatment with a "high number of lethargic (not necessarily moribund) fish hanging around the edges of the cage":

The Scottish Government's Fish Health Inspectorate also wrote to Mowi on 18 December 2019 citing "inadequately maintained" movement records:

'Mortality Event Reports' published by the Scottish Government's Fish Health Inspectorate on 8 January 2020 detail 42,412 dead salmon at Mowi's Tabhaigh salmon farm in Loch Erisort in six incidents – citing "Complex gill disease with significant gill bleeding and resultant anaemia + CMS + PD" as explained reasons for mortalities.  "Lice skirts lifted to optimise dissolved oxygen levels within pens," was detailed under 'additional information'.  "Worst pens to be harvested out":

Mowi's salmon farms at North Shore have also suffered mass mortalities with over 270,000 dead salmon in nine 'Mortality Event Reports' thus far during 2019 (as reported by the Scottish Government's Fish Health Inspectorate on 8 January 2020):
