Fighting Back Vs the $almafia's $LAPPs (in the spirit of David slaying Goliath)!

Bullies don't always win – as the Biblical battle between David and Goliath so famously illustrates (as captured by the painter Osmar Schindler).

But the bullies at the Norwegian $almafia keep on threatening to privatise the public waters around their lethal operations in Scotland. Here's a statement after Norskott Havbruk (Scottish Sea Farms) – owned by Norway's SalMar and Leroy Seafood (ranked 2nd and 4th largest salmon farming company in the world after Mowi) – threatened legal action last month on the back of Mowi's SLAPP:

The Norwegian giants Mowi and Norskott Havbruk (Scottish Sea Farms) which together control ca. 50% of 'Scottish' salmon farming are desperate to stop surveillance of salmon farming activities including gruesome video evidence of welfare abuse, mass mortalities and lice-infestation captured by covert filming during 2023:

Norway's $almafia may have billions of $almoney but their $almonopoly and status as $almobsters has attracted scrutiny on both sides of the Atlantic for illegal cartel activity – with price-fixing investigations in the USA, Canada and Europe:

Mowi's super-sized salmon farming should carry a wealth warning as well as a health warning.

Mowi's disregard for health and safety laws is in the spotlight in Scotland where an ongoing Fatal Accident Inquiry into the death of Mowi worker Clive Hendry is proving costly for the Norwegian giant:

The Norwegian $almafia is also facing criticism in Iceland and Norway – with video footage and leaked photos exposing welfare abuse and lice infestation at Mowi, SalMar (co-owner of Scottish Sea Farms) and Leroy Seafood (co-owner of Scottish Sea Farms):

Mowi and Norwegian giant Grieg Seafood have already been successful in banning filming inside salmon farms in Canada and Norway.

Whether the Norwegian $almafia will succeed in Scotland remains to be seen – but until the appeal vs Mowi is heard people can still see the gruesome video footage and judge for themselves.
