Public opposition is building against a super-sized proposal by AquaCultured Seafood Ltd for a 5,000 tonne salmon farm in Cleethorpes (just next to Grimsby Town Football Club and Grimsby docks) in the North-East of England.

If approved, the 40,000 square metre development which claims to support 100 jobs and £100 million in investment, would be the UK's largest salmon farm with over 50 tanks discharging 1 million cubic litres of effluent PER DAY into the Humber Estuary (a RAMSAR, SSSI and Special Protected Area).
Objections filed by local residents in submissions to North East Lincolnshire Council include:

Two-thirds (67%) of people responding to a Facebook survey said they were opposed to the salmon farm development with a further 21% saying it should be relocated to Grimsby docks:
