Victory: The Pished Fish Sobers Up to False Claims Over “Sustainable” Scottish Salmon!

Following Scottish Salmon Watch's intervention on Monday (17 January 2021), The Pished Fish has quickly deleted their false marketing and deceptive advertising claims of "sustainable" and "sustainably sourced" Scottish salmon!

The claim that Scottish salmon is "sustainable" has been dropped altogether – The Pished Fish's website claimed on Monday (17 January 2022):

The Pished Fish's website now reads "finest" and "freshest" not "sustainably sourced":

Another webpage has deleted the false claim that Scottish salmon is sourced "from the best sustainable producers":

The Pished Fish's claims of "responsible farming" may soon have to be deleted too.   In November 2021, Scottish Salmon Watch filed complaints against supermarkets for false advertising and deceptive marketing over "responsibly farmed" and "responsibly sourced" Scottish salmon – including Norwegian giant Mowi who market their Scottish salmon as "responsibly farmed" in Sainsbury's and Tesco.

Earlier this month, Scottish Salmon Watch wrote to the Aquaculture Stewardship Council asking that their "farmed responsibly" certification be withdrawn from all Scottish salmon farms.

On Monday (17 January 2022), Scottish Salmon Watch revealed that The Pished Fish has sourced from Loch Duart.   Loch Duart blogged in December 2018:

Scottish Salmon Watch also pointed out on Monday (17 January 2022) that The Pished Fish appear to have sourced from lice-infested Mowi:

It appears from the boxes in the photo below that The Pished Fish sources Scottish salmon from Mowi (formerly called Marine Harvest – Mowi changed their name in January 2019 due to what their CEO admitted was "negative consumer perception" in the name Marine Harvest):

Here's what Mowi (Marine Harvest) salmon looked like when Scottish Salmon Watch filmed inside salmon farms off the Island of Shuna in July 2021:
