The Norwegian co-owner of RSPCA Assured Norskott Havbruk (Scottish Sea Farms) – exclusive supplier to high-end retailer Marks & Spencer – dropped another bombshell today (10 November 2022) when SalMar's Q3 2022 financial results revealed a 8,000 tonne shortfall in their salmon farming operations in Scotland (SalMar is co-owner of Norskott Havbruk with Norwegian giant Leroy Seafood).

No explanation was given in SalMar's gushing press release (10 November 2022) of why 8,000 tonnes has suddenly been wiped off Norskott Havbruk's balance sheet but a partial answer to their "weak results" is outlined in SalMar's Q3 2022 presentation when it is admitted that "biological challenges" are plaguing Scottish Sea Farms:

News of a 8,000 tonne shortfall in Scotland's #2 salmon farming company (who gobbled up Grieg Seafood in December 2021), follows on the heels of devastating news of a 14,400 tonne 'troublesome' black hole in the finances of Norwegian behemoth Mowi (Scotland's #1 salmon farming company) and 10,000 tonne fall in production at Bakkafrost Scotland (Scotland's #3).
