Data published by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency via 'Scotland's Aquaculture' web-site reveals that Scottish Sea Farms has used the toxic shellfish-killing chemical Emamectin benzoate a staggering 32 times (data since September 2020 is still not publicly available)!

Scottish Sea Farms has also used the shellfish-killing chemicals Deltamethrin, Azamethiphos and Cypermethrin at their Dunstaffnage salmon farm.

Given the use of a cocktail of toxic chemicals it is not surprising that Emamectin benzoate has been detected by SEPA under the Dunstaffnage salmon farm.

Mass mortalities at the Dunstaffnage salmon farm operated by Norwegian-owned Scottish Sea Farms are staggering – here's the top 20 highest monthly mortalities as reported to SEPA.

When Scottish Salmon Watch visited a salmon farm in the Summer Isles at Tanera we nearly vomited at the stench of Scottish Sea Farms.

When we visited their processing plant at South Shian we were shocked at the dead cleaner fish.

When we filmed at Scottish Sea Farms in Loch Spelve in 2018 we saw lice-infested cleaner fish.

In November 2020, Salmon & Trout Conservation Scotland published shocking photos of welfare abuse at a salmon farm operated by Scottish Sea Farms in nearby Loch Creran 'Special Area of Conservation' and 'Marine Protected Area':

In November 2020, Scottish Salmon Watch wrote to the Norwegian Government to divest from 'unethical' salmon farming companies operating in Scotland including Scottish Sea Farms.

Scottish Sea Farms is not only unethical but it has been shown to be a threat to public health.  "A Scottish fish farming plant, whose workers complained of a mystery illness, had been reprimanded by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for "serious violations" of food safety rules on pesticides in salmon," reported Rob Edwards in The Sunday Herald (28 October 2012).

"A processing plant at Connel, in Argyll, which is run by Scottish Sea Farms, was warned by the FDA in March that it was in breach of US federal regulations," continued The Sunday Herald (28 October 2012).  "Your firm's aquaculture farmed salmon appear to be adulterated," the FDA said, "in that the products have been prepared, packed, or held under conditions whereby they may have been rendered injurious to health."

"Staff at Scottish Sea Farms site in Connel, left their posts on October 11 after feeling ill and coughing and vomiting," reported Fish Update (24 October).  "One Scottish Sea Farms employee, who did not wish to be named, said the sickness had been ongoing for ‘two to three’ weeks."

No wonder Scottish Sea Farms and Marks & Spencer have attempted to brand farmed salmon using the fake name 'Lochmuir'.

And if fake marketing does not work, Scottish Sea Farms have used Police Scotland as private security to keep the public away from their salmon farms.
