$camon $cotland visited Shuna Point salmon farm on Tuesday evening (16 May) and during the afternoon we witnessed at least 4 tonnes of morts being uplifted and incinerated. Preliminary video footage is attached to this email.This site operated by Scottish Sea Farms is in Loch Linnhe north of Oban near Appin – details via:Standing on the cages, we saw lesions and flanks missing on the sides of salmon – as well as dead cod and wrasse floating dead on the surface of cages. Lice infestation was apparent in the dead fish filmed inside the bins stored on the top deck of the feed barge. Inverlussa's Geraldine Mary was on site lifting up tonnes of dead fish and the Inter Caledonia was moored North of the site.Further video footage and photos are being uploaded and I can pass on over the coming days – I am still in the field and do not have my laptop but wanted to communicate how urgent the problem is.Suffice to say that $camon $cotland views the situation as an emergency with the disease disaster and welfare abuse at a critical point. Please visit the salmon farm this week to take samples for disease analysis and gauge the level of the problem.$camon $cotland believes that Scottish Sea Farms (Norskott Havbruk) – exclusive supplier to M&S – has a huge disease, mortality and welfare problem at Shuna Point salmon farm.
